I'm beyond excited to mark the 10th annual Browngiving this year on November 19. We'll return to Seattle, where we've rented a beautiful space within Magnuson Park, complete with an Art Deco bar and a fireplace. Said The Stranger:
Building 30 is a legend... This is where, starting in 1938, the Navy officers stationed at what's now Magnuson Park danced, drank, and mingled in their pressed uniforms. Their dance floor was the room next to the bar, a large, perfectly proportioned space with inlaid patterns in the wood, and a fireplace with marble hearth, and windows looking out on what remains of the forest at the edge of the water.
As soon as I saw the space I knew it would be the perfect spot to host our annual fall feast. It's restored gorgeously, spacious yet still cozy, with ample room for feasting, enjoying autumn punches from the bar, and all the attendant merriment. It could also host be the largest Browngiving ever, maybe surpassing the 100 attendees we somehow held in an unusually spacious Brooklyn apartment back in 2011, for Browngiving #5.
More details to come soon. I can't wait to see you all!
