NY Mag writes about April Bloomfield of the Breslin and the Spotted Pig:
her favorite part about serving an elaborate feast: the ritual of it all. “We ring a bell, and everyone cheers and claps as the whole beast is paraded out,” says Bloomfield.
The ritual of it all is indeed one of my favorite parts of Browngiving, and I love the way feast rituals are explored in the film Babette's Feast. Every time I watch this movie, I can't help but get excited for Browngiving.
In this clip, a rather austere dinner party relishes the eponymous feast, in spite of themselves. At Browngiving, I expect that we won't be so reticent to dive right in.
