Browngiving 2014 (also known as #Browngiving2014 or #BrowngivingVIII) is coming up on Saturday, and I can hardly believe that it'll be the eighth annual! Each year we host this party, there are more and more amazing memories to look back on, and more friends to raise a glass with. I'm also so proud to see our fundraising totals accumulate over the years ($3,000 and counting since 2011). We've come such a long way since we held this feast on a beer-pong table in our dorm room, using a brown bedsheet as a tablecloth.
While I'm so excited for Saturday and looking forward to feasting with you all in Brooklyn, I'm also looking backward more than usual this year; I recently dusted off my old 2006-era Dell Inspiron and found a treasure trove of fantastic old photos, including many photos from the early years of Browngiving. I've been texting them to some of you as additional encouragement to make the trip out to Bushwick on Saturday. Here's one of my all-time favorite oldies: Shelly pointing at the first Browngiving spread.
